K2 Update
In July -- August 2008 Robert, with his climbing buddy Edwin Siew , will climb K2 without using supplementary oxygen via the Abruzzi Ridge. K2, in the Karokoram in Pakistan, is the second highest mountain in the world, and reputedly more difficult and treacherous than Everest. The two men have always been fascinated with K2 with its beautiful ridges and challenging route which pushes climbers to the limits of their physical and mental capacity.
To date, just over 200 people have summitted K2 with 55 fatalities. Only 135 have summitted without oxygen. K2 has the record number (about 25) of climbers killed in the descent after summitting. It is no wonder K2 is also known as the mountaineer's mountain and the killer mountain.

K2 is also infamous for its extremely bad and erratic weather with very narrow summit windows interspersed over July, August and September. Indeed, it is not a mountain to be taken lightly and Edwin and Robert understand that well. If they succeed, they will be the first team from South-east Asia to reach the summit.
The Patron for their expedition is Mr Teo Chee Hean, Minister for Defence, Singapore.
